The launch on Saturday of the latest CD by Bonny, “Roo Rajinan" was a tremendous success with more than 250 people attending. The representative gathering of the Sri Lankan community in Sydney, was a show of support for Bonny Fernando.
Among the guest was Acting Sydney Consulate General Mrs. Gothami Indikadahena. Mrs. Indikadahena gave a speech to felicitate Bonny and noted that Bonny is planning to release more CDs in the near future.
Following her short speech, several other guests were also invited to speak.
Being a true entertainer, Bonny had organised that there would be plenty of food, drinks and entertainment.
Bonny also sang a few of his songs from the new CD. Later, some of the better known local artistes joined him on stage and sang duets with him.
No Sri Lankan event is complete without a baila session. This event was no exception with the night ending in a superb baila session with nearly every single guest on the floor.
Bonny said that the CD was selling very well in Sri Lanka and with the launch in Sydney, he was confidant that the CD would prove to be popular here too. |
