Imagine walking into a Function Room and the décor reflects the colours of Autumn.
The Red Gum at Wentworthville was such on April 21st. There were Balloons, wrapped Raffle prizes, the beautiful orange Gerberas on the tables and even the serviettes. Much thought had gone into the planning of this event.
KopyKatz began enticing the guests on to the dance floor with their soothing music and soon almost everyone was up dancing. They kept the music going with oldies and goodies giving everyone a chance to dance their hearts and feet out.
The PPA Secretary, Subo Gowripalan, performed the MC duties giving us the plan for the evening. The President, Cheryl D'Abrera, then welcomed the guests and thanked everyone present for their support of the dance.
Sneha Sampath, a young Bollywood dancer, entertained the guests with her energetic routine of Indian dancing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
The Curry Leaf Restaurant, Seven Hills catered the event and the dinner began with a mixed entrée, to each table, of panrolls, patties, mini spring rolls and fish cutlets. The mains were delicious – biryani and white rice with lamb vindaloo, butter chicken and devilled beef plus cashew and pea curry and brinjal pahi together with all the side dishes required to complement the meal. To round off this scrumptious meal, we were given our just desserts of wattalappan and fruit salad with ice-cream.
There was a treat in store for all the guests with table, door and raffle prizes, which were plentiful and all the winners came away happy, the happiness partly helped by one Johnny Walker, or was that several?? Anyway, good luck to all the winners!
Dancing then resumed and continued till the wee hours, culminating with the Baila!
The Committee must be congratulated for planning this great night. All their hard work was much appreciated by those present.
