The music lovers of Sydney filled the Pennant Hills Community Hall last Saturday the 14 th evening to be a part of the musical fiesta “Madhura Atheethe” presented by SCATS NSW. The show was organized by Bonny Fernando, who is one of the pioneer and the most popular vocalists in NSW. The venue was full to the capacity and to much of the regret of the organizers some at the end of the queue for tickets had to be disappointed owing to the seating constrains. Madhura Atheethe was presented in commemoration of the 21 st death anniversary of the renowned sinhala vocalist H.R.Jothipala and also to celebrate 10 th year of SCATS in NSW. It was an array of 30 beautiful master pieces from all popular sinhala vocalists including Jothipala who are no more with us today, and a number of colourful stage presentations by the best of talents from NSW including communities such as Latin American, Indian & Middle Eastern, in addition to that of the presenters from Sri Lankan Community. It was certainly a bubbly and a vibrant audience with bright smiles and cheer through out the show, which displayed that they received a variety of entertainments that they deserved and looked forward to. In between SCATS took time to extend congratulations on behalf of the Sri Lankan community to Dr Ubhayasiri Wijayananda Wickrema on the prestigious title of Order of Australia, that he received from the Government of Australia as the first Sri Lankan in NSW. The organizers are highly pleased that Madhura Atheethe became another success story of SCATS NSW. They take this opportunity to express their appreciation and gratitude to the news papers, radio & web sites in Sri Lanka and Australia which volunteered to publicize the event, all those who sent congratulatory and encouraging messages, and to the entire audience.
