Metho Dazzle 2008 |

The Methodist College PPA (Sydney branch) has once again lived up to its’ reputation and set another benchmark in having hosted “Metho Dazzle 2008” on the 5th of April, at Ryde Civic Centre. The huge success of this event is attributed to the fact that every aspect of the dance was addressed to the very last detail. The main foyer was elegantly decorated with a large candelabra holding five beautifully dressed candles to match the theme of the dance. A floral arrangement set with white lilies and silver sprigs, especially ordered for the occasion, sat on a white-laced tablecloth at the reception table. The ladies waiting to meet and greet the guests at the foyer were all suitably dressed and were looking forward to the evening whilst soft music provided by the Cazcade, was heard in the background. From chairs being draped in white, and accentuated with silver bows, to tables being beautifully set with silver candelabras to go with the theme of the night “Dazzle”, it certainly was a spectacular sight for guests to walk in to. The candelabras, further decorated with silver sprigs to give them an added glow, created an elegant and grand atmosphere for the guests. A Souvenir which had the College colour beautifully set out on the cover page was handed to each guest at the foyer. Each female guest was also handed an elegant little box of handmade chocolates, giving the whole event a personal touch. The night started off with the ‘Welcome Address’ by the president. There were wonderful surprises lined up for the night including the colourful ‘Latino Dancers’ who kept the guests literally mesmerised whilst tucking into dinner. The dancers drew a few couples to the floor during one of their performances, whilst the guests cheered them on… A three course North Indian Dinner was served at table. The switch to an Indian meal was a change, welcomed by the guests who had plenty of food to indulge in. The highlight of the meal for many of the sweet toothed guests, was the platter of Indian sweets served after the dessert. In line with tradition, brewed coffee and masala tea was provided after the meal. The absolutely fabulous ‘DJ’ and the band ‘Cazcade’ kept all the guests toe tapping during the night. Culminating the evening was a sincere ‘Vote of Thanks’ by the secretary, to all who helped make the evening such a grand success. Special mention was made to the members of the MCPPA Melbourne branch committee, who flew down to attend the dance. It was an occasion that was worthy of it’s title – ‘Metho Dazzle’, and the night certainly a combination of best of everything. Click here to view photos from the event taken by some of the ladies. |
