On Easter Monday the 24th of March, SCATS families and their friends gathered in the Royal National Park to get away from the City hustle & bustle and the household chores to have a fun day out. A unisex 20 over cricket match was the first item on their fun agenda. Two female captains were selected by a lucky draw to lead the teams which were selected amongst those participated. After a quick snack of refreshments the teams got down to the cricketing grounds well surrounded by shady trees which well supported those off the play with their drinks, chats & cheer. The 20 overs for each team brought fun to every body, to the players and the spectators equally. It was heard from around the grounds that the female enthusiasm was in high spirits overtaking the veteran males. Some one was heard saying that the males must have been playing cricket in the past only seated in front of their televisions. A well earned round of drinks of choice was enjoyed by every one at the end of the Cricket Match and then it was time for a dip in the water, either in the lagoon or the sea. The beach was already busy with crowds enjoying the sun & the water. The SCATS swimmers spared no time in their business and captured the lagoon first. Soon the swimmers decided on a game of customized Water-Polo and moved towards the sea seeking depth. Those remained on the beach had to call the passing time at several intervals to finally get the water lovers out of sea to head back for the already late lunch. The lunch was a sumptuous BBQ contribution of all participants. While some were busy with the BBQ tables the others enjoyed drinks of their choice to conquer the thirst and the waste. The “self service” lunch was rated “Top Class” with no reservations by every body. While the others were busy in packing & cleaning the remnants, the SCATS committee took the opportunity to meet for a brief dialogue about their future events. Although the time was getting on the way of the fun lovers, no body was ready to skip a sing song. A brief sing song brought the day to a happy end. The participants were heard saying that they regretted those who missed the fun being unable to join the day. We are pleased to bring you a bumper album from this event. Click here to enjoy |
