Anadians Family Nite, great results with a lump sum collected for a worthy cause |

Past Anandians of Sydney held their annual get-together on 20 th June 2009 at Thornleigh Community Centre. There was a marked difference from previous such events. The theme of the function was the much needed support for the fallen heroes of the civil war and their surviving families in Sri Lanka . A list of names of past Anandians who made the supreme sacrifice to defend the country was read out in public. A slide show demonstrating the destruction caused by the war and signs of hope for the future captured the hearts and minds of everyone. A total of $3,000 was raised by ticket sales and donations and remitted to Ranaviru Sewana. Everyone enjoyed the excellent atmosphere provided by the magnificent vibrant music, Bonnie's old hits, and of course the tasty Sri Lankan cuisine. |
