Sinhalese Cultural Forum of NSW Inc. organized a get together for their current and  previous committee members

Sinhalese Cultural Forum of NSW Inc organised a get together for the current committee members and their families to meet the previous office bearers of the SCF.

This provided an excellent opportunity for the new committee members to meet the past Presidents, Vice Presidents and learn from their valuable experience and knowledge.

Dr Laxman Randeniya (Ex President of SCF) gave a presentation on the future directions of the SCF. Dr Wimal Samarasinghe a successful ex Vice President (Education) of SCF, enlightened the gathering on the commencement of Sinhala Language Schools and emphasised the importance of having clear objectives.

Professor Athula Ginige an ex President of SCF provided an excellent review of lessons learnt over decades. Dr Don Wickrama emphasised the reasons for starting the Cultural Forum 20 years ago.

The Education VP Mrs Suji Hettiarachchi, Media VP Cicil Fonseka, Cultural VP Upul Padukkavidana and Youth VP Reggi Dissanayake presented their corresponding plans for the coming year to the knowledgeable audience.

Over a very tasty Sri Lankan dinner everyone had an opportunity to build new friendships and discuss the future projects in an informal environment.

The unity displayed by the new and previous committee members was quite encouraging. The new approach taken by the present President Saman Dissanayake and the committee was highly appreciated by the past committee members. This would be most likely an annual SCF event in the future.

The night ended with a very enjoyable Paduru Party.
