"Shepherdian Social Nite" held at one of the best venues in North Rocks, Sydney

When all the branches of a tree bloom with flowers, the tree gives the best possible picture to all looking at it. So was the “Shepherdian Social Nite” held last night at one of the best Venues in North Rocks, Sydney. The Committee members did their best to give their 300 guests the best view of the Good Shepherd Convent Past Pupils Association.

Everything was in place for a fantastic night - scrumptious Sri Lankan food as usual, this time with a touch of Italian, great music, great flowers & balloons, raffle prizes galore and a Surprise!

Dinner catered to everyone's palate, from Entrée through to buffet style Mains and Dessert. After the meal, as they usually do, the ‘Old' girls remembered their School with their ‘School Song'.

The entertainment arranged by our Vice President, Cheryl D'Abrera, was a surprise for absolutely everyone present including the Committee. Elvis came alive, complete with his kiss-curl, to serenade his audience with hits from the 50's through to the 70's. This reporter was transported back in time to the ‘Jailhouse Rock' movie when Elvis sang ‘Young & Beautiful'. Elvis also singled out several ladies for a satin scarf as a memento. It was my feeling that Elvis hadn't left the building at all. What energy! What moves!

Thanks to the generosity of the Committee, there were numerous Raffle prizes and as a result there were lots of Winners.

It was so good to see all the young people up on the dance floor and enjoying themselves. It was a night organised for all ages.

Thank you to Daphne Siva for doing a superb job as Ms MC, to Doug Jones who makes sure everyone is photographed, to all the young family members who helped to set up the hall and tidy away at the end of the night and everyone else who contributed to and supported the event.
