Bak Maha Rangana (BMR) 2010 organised by the Sinhalese Cultural Forum (SCF) was successfully concluded last Saturday 01 May 2010. Without doubt this is the best showcase of the best of Sri Lankan performing art.

Traditional dances, modern dances, beautiful singing, items by children, items by the youth, comedies and traditional drama items made this show a unique cultural experience. The show was attended by over 1300 enjoying the performances of over 350 performers.

The invited guest artists this year was the veteran Sri Lankan artist Wijaya Nandasiri.

The effort the performers put into their items is unbelievable. The technical expertise in the Sri Lankan community to do a massive project like BMR is amazing. This show brings together the community like no other.

This year the SCF has dedicated the show to the noble theme of harmony among communities. The show was appropriately named the “Dawn of Peace”

Some complained that the show was too long which was true. “The performers work very hard and their performances are of high standard. How can we say no to them and break their heart?” an organiser commented.

Everyone agreed the show was very interesting and entertaining from the beginning to the end.
