|||||
Reporting by DNK Media services The most popular dance band in Sri Lanka, the fabulous Gypsies are on their Australian tour again. They toured Brisbane & Adelaide and then arrived in Sydney to rock the Bowman hall in Black town. With no less than 450 people in attendance last Sunday, the eager fans in Sydney were still yearning for more and more. As in the past the invitation from Sydney was from Mr. Sivakumaran of Blue Elephant Restaurant. Better known as Siva, a veteran Hotelier, no doubt did it again starting on the dot at 6.30pm as per schedule. Siva was very fervent as Sunil Perera was celebrating his 40th milestone in the music industry in this tour. Siva thankes Ozlanka, Mr. Palitha Ganewatte of SBS Radio and Mr.Kithsiri Karunarathne from Isuru multimedia for their commitment in continuous support in his events. Siva also made special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Punchihewa for their dedicated efforts in making this show a big success and for being the master of ceremonies for this fabulous event. Towards the latter part, Sunil Perera invited Desmond De Silva to sing couple of songs with the band. The duo sang “Yanna rata wate” and “Yaman bando wesak balanna” and it was very well taken by the audience. Nimal Punchihewa who wast former drummer with the Gypsies also took the drummers seat and these blends added a lot of nostalgia, variety and colour to the show. At the end of the show, Siva personally thankedl the band members for the successful show at the official after party dinner hosted at the Blue Elephant Restaurant in Woldorf Hotel in Pennant Hills. He said almost every one in the venue personally thanked him for organising such a wonderful event which made him feel very proud. During the dinner Sunil Perera thanked Siva for his sincere hospitality extended to them as usual all through their stay in Sydney . Please enjoy the photos of the concert and after party.
