Feast Mass and hopper night sellout A good evening of piety, food, drink and all-round Josephian camaraderie

Some 160 people , including 45 Old Joes, family and friends gathered at the West Pennant Hills Community Centre on 20 March to celebrate St Joseph's College Feast with Mass and a get-together with a hopper dinner and dancing.

The evening got going when Father Jude Nicholas, visiting from Sri Lanka as chaplain to the Sri Lankan community of NSW, began the Mass and gave a homily extolling the virtues of St Joseph and encouraging those present to be instruments of change for the better.

The Mass was also an occasion for thanksgiving to the school for the training and instruction that has moulded the lives of thousands over the years.

The prayers reflected the desire for peace in Sri Lanka, the success of Rector Sylvester Ranasinghe's vision plan for the College and blessings on Australia, where many Old Joes call home.

DJ Craig led the singing of the hymns and the College Anthem and soon slid into his familiar groove of stepping up the rhythms to entice couples to gyrate on the floor while Sunethra and her team set about feverishly baking the hoppers for the waiting queue eagerly waiting to sample her fare.

President Chrys Fernando later thanked all those who worked hard to make the evening a success.
