Renowned vocalist Angeline Goonethilake presented “Amara Pem Lathawe” in Sydney recently

On Saturday the 23rd of October, the Bowman Hall in Blacktown, NSW was full with enthusiastic music lovers to enjoy the company of renowned Sri Lankan vocalist, Angeline Goonathilake. The show commenced at 6.30 pm amidst a gathering of around 450 patrons.

Angeline Goonathilake, who was then Angeline de Lanerolle, started her music career as a young lass in the sixties. She reached the highest of her popularity as a background vocalist for more than five decades in almost all commercially successful Sinhala movies. She has sung duets with all the prominent Sinhala male vocalists. Angeline has received national awards in recognition of her contribution to the music arena in many occasions.

The show was sponsored by Sydney-sider Ann Sepalika and organised by Bonny Fernando. Bonny is well known among the music lovers in Sydney as one of the most prominent local vocalists.

In order to present the show which was titled “Amara Pem Lathawe”, Angeline was joined by the popular up and coming male vocalists Jagath Wickramasinghe and Ranil Mallawarachchi in duets, and Lanka Priyangani in female vocals. Bonny Fernando too sang a couple of songs with Angeline. The music was led by Tharupathy Munasinghe. The band consisted of Indrajith Mirihana and Jude Fernando with a few other talented musicians.
