The Sinhalese Cultural Forum of NSW Inc. presents BAK MAHA RANGANA 2011 |
|||||
The Sinhalese Cultural Forum of NSW Inc (SCF) proudly staged a remarkable BMR show at the Hills Centre on Saturday the 30th April 2011 with a difference. The SCF has marked a milestone by commencing the show with an Australian Indigenous performance synchronising the Sinhalese cultural show with traditional custodians of this country Australia. This year’s guest artist young Sahan Ranwala provided a great support for the success of the show. He trained Sydney young talents to a high standard while engaging in many performances with them. This is being the first performance of highly skilled and culturally talented Sahan in Australia and privileged to experience by an audience of over thousand. Program included variety of items which were well collaborated into traditional Sinhalese cultural performances. For the first time in BMR history, the tickets were sold online through the box office and the show was compressed into a quality 3 ½ hour time frame. Another highlight of the day was the random survey conducted by the SCF to evaluate the performances during the show. As a continuation of the survey, the SCF has also opened the doors to all participants to complete an evaluation questionnaire which is available on the SCF website (www.thescf.org.au), which may facilitate to fine tune the future events. In order to help the well deserved parents & performing children, the SCF is making arrangements to provide a method to purchase quality photos taken, at a nominal fee. This was requested by many. It was no surprise that the audience did not want to see an end, but the show was concluded with the National Anthems sung under the flags of Sri Lanka & Australia. - Reported by SCF Media Team |
