Forty two old Royalists belonging to the Class of 72 Tamil Stream, gathered on the 2nd of January 2011 at an exclusive function centre in Sydney for a Family Reunion Party.

The gathering brought a number of guys, bringing to our shores, their dolls and their lovely off-springs; they came from near as New Zealand and far as Canada and the USA, and in between from UK, Switzerland, South Africa and of course Sri Lanka. To be precise, forty two Class of 72 old boys extending to over hundred in numbers with their charming and beautiful families. Amongst them former rugby captain who lead the Alma mater to school champion ship in rugby through to captains of industry spanning many continents.

Reunion events spanned over eight days culminating in the main event on the 2nd of January. Things kicked off with a warm up event in Canberra and a visit to our Parliament, followed by a visit to the Wine yards to taste Aussie wines, a very ‘spicy' bachelors nite out, a BBQ extended to all old Royalists' living in the Sydney area, New Year's Eve at the Harbour Bridge with Fireworks and a visit for the UK based old Royalist to see the Ashes Test at the SCG witnessing the rare occurrence of the Poms getting the better of us (fixing the result to delight our guests?), a true demonstration of what great hosts we are, Down Under!

Overall, a great series of events hosted by the Royal College Class of 72 Organising Committee of Australia; guests leaving our shores happy and getting a true realisation of harmony, good humour, brotherhood and friendship of the Sri Lankan-Australian Royalist community. May these events Down Under become a beacon of friendship for our community world over. As the Alma mater says ‘Learnt of Books and Men and Learn to Play the Game'.

A donation of AUD 1,500 was made to the "Bridging Sri Lanka" The Mega Project of Royal College Class of ' 72 in colombo , by the organizers at the end of the main event.
