The venue was Harvey Lowe Pavilion at Castle Hill. The attendance was well above expectation. The night started with a performance by a traditional Indonesian Angklung band, which was well received by all. The DJ took over the entertainment. He provided a mixture of songs, both old and new, English and Sinhala and threw in some racy Hindi numbers as well. The dancing went on nonstop and had to be reluctantly stopped as the Hall had to be handed over by 12 midnight. Fazil and Fiona catered and as can be expected the standard was high. Biryani, yellow rice and an array of curries and malay pickle followed by wattalappam completed the fine fare for the night. Angie and Kishaya were the comperes and kept the party well-paced and exciting. Door prizes and quality food hampers were taken away by some lucky attendees. There were prizes for the best dancers also. All prizes were donated with Buckman of Forge Travel providing two Air tickets.
