WESLEY (OBA NSW) ANNUAL PICNIC

The Annual Wesley College OBA NSW picnic was held on Sunday 27th March.

It was decided to head north this year to Nobby’s Beach Newcastle. After a 2 hour Coach trip we reached our destination. The morning showers did not give us much of a welcome, but towards afternoon the glorious sun came out to make it a perfect day.

The Picnic continued to be once again one of our popular events for the year with a full coach of 60 Wesleyites, their families and many of our loyal friends. Bookings had to be closed 3 weeks in advance.

The group was entertained with a sing along of some of our favourite songs.

We had Robin on the guitar and Ian on the Bongos, with the rest joining in.  Ian and Des did the” Macarena” showing off their dancing skills.

A Sri Lankan picnic would not be complete without a game of tennis ball cricket.

The BBQ on the day was arranged by John Buultjens “Wesley’s Master Chef”, John a grand effort. With each family bringing a plate of food along, there was plenty on the day to feed the 5000. Thank you very much ladies.

It turned out to be a most enjoyable day of fun and fellowship shared amongst a lovely group of friends.
